Ed Stewart and his family have been members of Shandon since June 1996. He served as Technical Director from 1998-2009. He returned to the staff as Adult Discipleship Pastor in August 2019. Now, following the Lord’s leading, he is leading a church plant in Columbia, SC. New Creation Baptist Church launched on Sunday, January 7th, 2024.

After hearing a message on the passage, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Ed went forward and gave his life to Jesus at the age of seven. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!”

Having witnessed the transforming work of the Gospel in his father’s life, the verse spoke to Ed. Now, it is his desire to see lives transformed through the power of Jesus.

He is a graduate of Liberty University and is married to Alberta. They have four adult children Crystal, Alyssa, Michael, and Andrew.

As a native of Detroit, Michigan, Ed is an avid supporter of all Detroit and University of Michigan sports teams. He also enjoys reading, walking, cooking, cars, and road trips.
